Beware: Travoport-A Nightmare of Deceptive Practices

In the vast sea of travel agencies, Travelport emerges as a dark, deceptive vortex, luring unsuspecting travelers into a web of deceit. My recent experience with them was nothing short of a nightmare, a cautionary tale for anyone considering their services.Their website boasts tantalizingly low prices, a siren song that beckons travelers towards their downfall. After purchasing what seemed like a reasonable ticket, the true colors of Travoport began to unravel. Almost immediately, I received a call pressuring me to upgrade my ticket, claiming that basic amenities like luggage were now luxuries reserved for those willing to shell out additional cash.Refusing their extortionate demands, I found myself plunged into a Kafkaesque ordeal. Suddenly, my ticket was relegated to standby status, a ploy to extract even more money from me. When I dared to question their tactics and requested to speak with a manager, the charade continued, with false claims of ticket unavailability and exorbitant price hikes.Only through the intervention of a friend within American Airlines did Travoport begrudgingly relent, begrudgingly admitting their deceitful game. It was abundantly clear: they had no intention of honoring their advertised prices, opting instead to manipulate and coerce customers into paying more.If you value your sanity and wish to spare yourself the agony of dealing with Travoport's Machiavellian schemes, heed my warning: steer clear. Choose any other travel agency for peace of mind and a hassle-free journey. Travoport deserves nothing more than a solitary star, a dismal reflection of their shameful practices.

Travoport Fraud: overcharge and change date of travel

I booked a flight and about an hour later received a phone call. I was told there were restrictions such that I could bring nothing with me on the plane, not a purse, nothing, no carry on. If I wanted to bring something on plane cost went from 282 to over 535. Then the agent said flight on date I wanted not available and change date 4 days earlier. The agent Charlie, told me credit card had already been charged and all I could do was accept. While still on phone with Charlie I called my credit card company on skype. Took a while to get someone from credit card company who could deal with this. I put the phone down and talked with credit card company. Apparently Travoport charged my card 4 times $282. Had to cancel my card and now dispute is with the fraud department. I received an email from Charlie Williams. The email stated "Please review the flight details below, for the passengers mentioned below, to confirm the accuracy thereof. By responding to this email, you knowingly and voluntarily authorize us to charge your MASTER CARD ending in XXXXXXX0000 for Amount USD 535.18. I did not respond to email with changed flight date and almost twice the original cost. I did not respond to the email so I did not authorize the payment. Yet there are four charges of $282 on my card.

I left a 1 star because 0 stars is not available. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS SITE. SCAM SCAM SCAM! They bait and switch tickets, make you add services and then tell you that it was clearly marked when in fact it is not! I spoke with Luisa Rodriguez, Cody M and another gentleman who all refused to refund my money after I declined the add ons not mentioned when booking. I was extremely frustrated with their lack of customer service (specifically Luisa) and their inability to refund my money after literally only 2 hours from purchase. Additionally, the Consumer Act and FCC act prohibits businesses like this from keeping your money. Please look into the Travo Port Scam online. Visit and file a claim with the BBB. Their practices are criminal. Do not feel like you are hopeless and thieves just get away with your money. Also look at your banking statements for numbers to carriers and speak with them regarding this business and how they can help. Don’t think the airlines won’t help. Awful experience

I was looking for a ticket from Newark NJ to Jacksonville Fl. I found some tickets ranging from 240$ to much higher. The TravoPort offered a ticket United Airlines 158.00$. that sound very good and I bought it. I received an email but stated you don’t have a ticket and … they called me many times and after threatening that you lose your 158.00$ if you don’t purchase a ticket from us. Finally, they sold me a ticket for 415.68$.

TOTAL SCAM!! They use the bait and switch scam on pricing!! You book at the price shown on their site, you get an email saying that you'll get another email once it's confirmed/paid and tickets issued. They call later and say that the tickets are heavily restricted - no online check-in no carry-on, and you have to check-in for the connecting flight (this was bizarre). I was surprised anyone called, until I realized they were calling to get more money from me. I told them I saw none of those restrictions when I booked. Of course they say it's there and I just missed it. BUT......all this could be fixed for $1000 US more though!! Lol. I was also told repeatedly that I couldn't cancel despite the fact that the second email wasn't sent to confirm the tickets. I called my credit card company and told them about the attempted fraud and to not process any charges from them. I also cancelled that card. These people are pathetic. Save yourselves the money and hassle and stay far far away from travoport.com I'd bet that all the positive reviews I've read are in on the scam. Buyer beware!!

biggest deceiving scammers in travel business/ DON'T BOOK WITH THESES SCAMMERS

I bought an overseas ticket for an amount of $788.35. I called them right away before my card was charged to find out about the luggage and I was told we'll call get back to you within 10 minutes, 6 hours later I get a call back telling me about restrictions after my card was charged. No cancellation within 24 hours, no refund no...and the One that really get me is when I was told zero baggage and can't pay for one even if I want to, I can only board with my passport in my hand, then they offered me a different trip for $ 1200 with a carry on. they don't deserve! 1 star that I give them and I DON'T RECOMMEND TRAVO PORT!!!!

DISHONEST

Dishonesty is the key word when describing this unscrupulous company. Assurances made by TRAVOPORT employees will be forgotten as soon as your payment is received and secured. When attempting to speak with an employee, a supervisor to rectify a problem or grievance, count on one thing - DEFLECTION. You will have little recourse, other than attempting to warn other consumers to "Stand Clear."

Thought I was getting a good deal. Received a phone call to ask additional details.Turns out I couldn't bring a carryon or luggage for the flight. If I wanted to bring luggage need to upgrade which brings up the ticket price. NO WONDER THEY CALLED TO ASK ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. Cheaper to get through legitimate website. Worst Agency Ever

DO NOT, do not ever book a flight through this company. They bait and switch, they hide all kinds of stuff in small print, AND I tried to cancel and the actually refused to cancel my flight so I could rebook with different flight times. Never use this crappy company!

Booked a flight for $x, the next morning got 4 calls from them saying there were no seats available left on the flights and upgrade, or change date required. Triple price. Airline sorted it out.

Bait and switch scam

I was looking for an online flight booking. Among the various travel agencies, I was attracted by the relatively low price of my TravoPort airline agency. Nothing foreshadowed problems and was not any sign of a problem with the reservation. I have completed my booking and paid for it with a credit card. Soon I received confirmation of my booking, with explanation that they could not guarantee tickets for my flight, not at all. I immediately called the representative agency and they explained to me that those tickets don't not exist, they are on the so-called "waiting list" and in fact they had no idea how long I would have to wait. I was extremely frustrated and talked to the manager and demanded the cancellation of my reservation. However they do not want cancellation, even you are trying to do it immediately after booking literally the next minute. Then the manager began to openly blackmail me, literally harass me saying that if I don't buy almost twice more expensive tickets from them now, then I can be left without tickets at all. Finally I have to ask for help my credit card and canceled this transaction as illegal. Horrible company horrible manager. BTW next day I purchased ticket directly from Delta Arline without any problems cheaper then TravoPort trying to force me baying from them. Keep away from TravoPort, they are "Bait and switch". They are scam and ransomware

I spent 859 on two tickets, but luggage wasn't included, so I had to pay extra at the airport. The ticket offered to me had better seats and included luggage. If I had booked directly through the airline, it would have been a better deal without any trouble. I did receive my e-Ticket on time from Adeline Rose, but I feel like I was robed with this purchase.

Blair Martin was very helpful and kind. He said he would assist me by providing my boarding pass 24 hours prior to my trip. I am grateful for his assistance. He was the only person at Travoport that helped in any way after being on phone with 3 different persons for over 2 hrs. I believe Travoport is a SCAM. Would not recommend to anyone.

The service was great, and I felt well taken care of. I will definitely choose this service again for my future travels. Reliable, polite, and supportive.

Because of a death in the family, my husband couldn’t

Because of a death in the family, my husband couldn’t travel as planned. Trustpilot does not offer refunds for flights. I’m definitely let down. But this woman told me I could receive a $101.77 credit. So I appreciate that, at least I didn’t completely lose the nearly $400.00 I spent on the flight.

I had an issue with incorrect passport details which stopped me from boarding the flight. But I called Travoport and talked to Blair Martin, he was very kind and helped me fix the problem by cancelling the flight and giving me credit for another trip. I am very gratefull to him. Nice service.
