On Nov 9 , 2023, I was contacted by "Arcler Desk" via phone, and they claimed they were closing down. They informed me that I had an unused credit balance from a service I had availed of on Oct, 9 2022, for $700, which was meant to solve a website issue. They offered to return a portion of the credit to me. To cut a long story short, they scammed a significant amount of money from my bank account because they had access to detailed information and were able to remotely access my account without my authorization. Essentially, Arcler gained access to my bank account, transferred money from a credit card that I hadn't used for two years, and had a line of credit. They then claimed that they made a mistake with the refund and insisted that I owed them the difference. I reported the incident to the police, the FCC, and the FBI, but I have doubts about recovering my losses. I never received any warning from my bank, and it was a clever scam. I attempted to contact Arcler regarding this matter, but I never received a response. It appears that this could have been an inside job or that someone with access to customer data was involved. Please exercise caution, as the individuals I interacted with had pronounced foreign accents, and this was consistent between my interactions with Arcler in 2022 and 2023. Local police mentioned that it's common for US companies with foreign agents to engage in such scams, as the US may not have jurisdiction in such cases.
