I’ve tried a lot of harnesses trying to find one that my dogs, who’ve been through some rough times, are comfortable with. The Joyride Harness works great for car rides. Both of my dogs now get really excited when it’s time to go, and they actually come over expecting their harnesses. Once I figured out the right size for the chest velcro, I just leave it on and only need to clip the buckle from around their front legs. No more struggling, it’s all simple and quick. It’s really easy to slip on and off over their heads.
I mainly use them in the car with doggie-seatbelts I got from Joyride. There was one time when my smaller, more playful dog (55 Lbs) managed to pull apart the velcro on the bigger dog’s (70 Lbs) harness while playing in the yard. Also, when the larger dog was hooked to the seatbelt in the backseat, she somehow got the harness off, even though it was still attached to the seatbelt. But this happened early on when she was really anxious, so I don’t think it’s a regular issue. Unlike with other harnesses, the smaller dog has never chewed through the Joyride.
They’re lightweight, made of breathable mesh, and the dogs seem to like them. The only problem I have is that the buckle is a bit hard for my older hands to unclip.
