I bought a Cub Cadet
door glenn lindman

I bought a Cub Cadet ZT 154 in June 2023 and thought I was set for years. Fast forward to July 2024, I was mowing my lawn, which I’ve kept rock-free and stump-free for over three decades, just Bermuda Grass. Suddenly, I hear this loud thud and see a 4.5” pulley fly out from the top of the deck. The deck belt starts jerking like crazy. I shut off the mower and checked it out, then took it to the dealer for a warranty check. Turns out, the center spindle got yanked partially off the deck, cracking two bolt holes. Cub Cadet denied the warranty, saying there had to be an impact, but there wasn't. The dealer even agreed there was no sign of any impact—no damage to any blade. So, I asked the dealer to order me a new 54” fabricated deck, part number 603P05579A-0637 (black). But Cub’s parts system said it was unavailable. The only ones I could find online were sold by third parties for way more than Cub’s list price and with ridiculous shipping fees. I’m convinced Cub Cadet denied the warranty because they don’t have the part. They showed me what they really think about customer service and loyalty. The mower is only a year old and the deck supposedly has a “limited lifetime warranty.” Seems like the limitation is whether Cub can actually support their product. They’ve lost me as a customer for good. I wouldn’t recommend their Zero Turn mowers to anyone.

Bought this riding mower on
door Gerald Gates

Bought this riding mower on June 14th. Used it about five or six times before things went south. It started making this awful noise, and the motor was shaking like crazy. Tried calling the 800 number for help, but couldn’t get a real person on the phone. So, I reached out to a local warranty service center. The guy there said it sounded like the air filter was clogged. Seemed ridiculous, but I cleaned the filter anyway. Checked the oil and it was pitch black. Changed it out, hoping that would fix things. Went to mow the lawn again and it made this horrible metal-on-metal noise. Next thing I know, there's oil everywhere. I parked it and took a closer look—oil was all over the motor and cowling. Tried to start it again, but it was dead. Had to get it picked up for service under warranty, but had to pay for the transport myself. It's been a month now, and they haven’t even looked at it yet. They keep saying they're overwhelmed and don’t have enough staff to work on all the Cub Cadets lined up before mine. It’s frustrating to hear them say maybe by next summer.

I called because my 2024 XT1 LT50 wouldn't start.
door Anonymous

I called because my 2024 XT1 LT50 wouldn't start. I battled with the AI menus that just kept directing me to their online help page. After 3 calls and 15 minutes on hold, I finally got through. I described the problem and asked to talk to a technician, thinking it was probably just a choke adjustment. Instead, I was sent to a phone that rang once and then disconnected. This happened twice even after I explained I had been disconnected before. Cub Cadet, ditch the AI and hire real people who actually want to work there. You could learn a lot from Home Depot as they know how to handle Customer SERVICE!

AI Frustration, Real Help Needed!
door Unsatisfied Customer

I tried to get my 2024 XT1 LT50 started but it just wouldn't cooperate. Navigating their AI system was a nightmare; it kept pushing me to check their online troubleshooting page. After three calls and a 15-minute wait, I finally reached a human. I explained I thought it was a simple choke adjustment and asked for a technician. They transferred me to a line that rang once and hung up. This happened twice, even after I mentioned the previous hang-up. Cub Cadet, ditch the AI and hire people who actually care. Take a note from Home Depot—they know how to do Customer SERVICE right!

Cub Cadet Warranty Woes: Beware Buyers
door Jerry Conners

Man, what a nightmare dealing with Cub Cadet's customer service. Got myself a 2023 Cub Cadet XT1 42B, it's practically brand new, only 30 hours on it. But guess what? The valve needs replacing already. So, I reach out for some warranty help, and they drop the bombshell that they won't honor it 'cause I'm not the original owner. The previous owner moved outta state and now can't be found. And to make it worse, they tell me the Briggs and Stratton engine issues have to be taken up with Briggs directly? Seriously, what a mess. Just a heads-up for anyone considering buying one.

Riding Mower Payment Disaster
door Dave Koniuch

Dealing with this company has been a total nightmare. I bought a new riding mower and set it up for monthly payments. First month, no payment was taken out, so I called the dealer. They assured me it'd be sorted, but the second month came and went with no payment taken, and now I'm hit with $80 in late payment charges. I've been on the phone constantly trying to fix this, but nothing's happening. If this doesn't get resolved soon, I'm getting my down payment back and going for a different brand. This hassle isn't worth it.

Endless Hold and No Blades Delivered
door Christy Herziger

I ordered new lawn mower blades online, expecting them to show up in 3-5 days. Well, it's been almost two weeks, and they haven't even shipped yet. So, I decided to call and cancel the order. I've been on hold for more than an hour, just listening to their annoying music. Trying to cancel online? Forget it, not an option. I had to go out and buy the blades from a local dealership instead. And guess what? I'm still on hold, trying to cancel the original order. Total nightmare.
