Trip Mate is an utterly disappointing company that engages in scams, leaving people without the coverage they paid for. Despite their policy stating they cover trip cancellations, when my flight was canceled twice, they refused to honor their commitment and cover the expenses incurred during the cancellations. This company falls short of deserving even a single star. I strongly advise choosing reputable alternatives like Allianz. I'm so dissatisfied that I'm considering creating a podcast across my social media platforms, reaching over 10 billion followers, to expose these scammers.

We regret choosing Trip Mate for our insurance for the cruise. An unfortunate event occurred when my husband fractured his femur just before our trip. Due to his surgery and hospital stay, we had to cancel our plans since he couldn’t travel. We submitted our claim within 48 hours of the accident and got a response after 21 days of filing. We usually prepare our trips ahead of time, and we thought insurance would help; however, it didn't cover what we hoped for. It turned out to be a poor investment for us. Thank you, Trip Mate.

I suffered a leg injury

I suffered a leg injury in Jamaica in May 2023, and despite needing medical attention, the local hospital required cash, so I opted to wait until returning home. Upon reaching the emergency room, I filed the necessary paperwork, seeking reimbursement for expenses like a brace, cast, walker, and a few physical therapy sessions totaling $330. Unfortunately, my claim was denied by the insurance company, making the overall experience disappointing.

The trip mate coverage was okay.

The trip mate coverage was okay. My Daughter and Son In Law filed the claim for me as I was in the hospital at the time the plane left for Europe so I never talked to a representative. The claim was processed and payment was made in an acceptable amount of time. There were, obviously, computer generated emails, that tended to be confusing. Updates were not given although they were available online if they could be found.

I'm delighted to have my claim approved, which encourages me to leave a positive review. However, there's room for process improvement. It would be more efficient to request all necessary documentation from multiple providers, such as airlines and tour companies, simultaneously instead of over the course of several months. This would streamline the process and enhance the overall experience.

This company's customer service is absolutely terrible.

This company's customer service is absolutely terrible. During our call, the person named Sean was rude and disrespectful, even calling me "bro" and abruptly ending the call. When I asked for a supervisor, they hung up on me again. Later, when I called back and asked about Sean, they denied having anyone by that name working there. Our problem was never resolved.

After paying for my trip

After paying for my trip I was diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo treatment during the time of the scheduled trip. My refund was issued quick, and I even got the cancelation fee refunded. I only paid for the cheaper insurance so I wasn't sure if the cancelation fee would be refunded.

The company's service was good. We canceled our trip due to a health problem. They charged a 100% fee. Luckily, we had TripMate insurance. We filled out the claim form with lots of papers about the health issue, trip cancellation, and flight details. They gave us money back in a month.

My doughter got ill and couldn't travel. Claim process was easy. I filled claim form and sent it via email. I thout it will take long time to get refund, but they approved it quickly. Few days later, got refund by email. I'm glad I bought this insurance, otherwise we'd lose $2000.

Stay away from this company.

Stay away from this company. It's a complete fraud. They made me repeat paperwork for 6 months, never ending. Then they'd switch me to someone else who wanted more documents. They exhaust you until you quit or they deny your claim with a fake excuse.

The company, Trip Mate, helped the resort to contact a doctor, and when I got back home they were very helpful with paperwork. I got my check for expenses within a month of sending in the info. I did not expect that. Thank you so much.

The company quickly and correctly dealt with my claim. I filled out the form online and provided the needed documents, then I didn't need to do anything more. I'm really happy! I'll surely use their services whenever I go on trips.
