The worst car rental place I’ve ever used.

The worst car rental place I’ve ever used. First, you need a shuttle from Charlotte Douglas Int'l Airport to their remote site, which looked like an old bank. There's no one in the building, everything is done online. As a woman, I wouldn’t have felt safe if I was alone. Next, I had to pay $69.00 for tolls; otherwise, I might have been fined $25.00 for each one since NC has no stop payment for tolls. I didn’t even use a toll road and wasn’t refunded the $69.00. I got a Nissan Sentra with bad alignment: the tires needed a rotate/balance, which was disappointing. Also, they asked for a $350 deposit. When I returned the car, the shuttle driver said he would check it in for me. He drove it behind the building and came back saying there was a stain on the back seat and I’d be charged $150.00 for cleaning. The cleaning was done with just a bucket and water. When I tried to dispute this, the driver suddenly said he didn’t understand English well. I called BS and more. No one put anything in that seat to cause that stain; we would have noticed it right away because it was quite big. I think they put the stain there after I returned the car. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Our car rental experience

Our car rental experience with this place in August started off relatively okay, although the shuttle and pick-up took longer than expected. However, the real trouble began after we returned the car. They began charging us for various amounts, claiming we had multiple tickets with different costs. We couldn't provide any proof to dispute these charges, so we let it go. But what truly frustrated us was the fact that they never returned our refundable deposit of nearly $300! We reached out countless times, and they never provided any explanations. Instead, they repeatedly placed us on hold and eventually stopped answering our calls. We returned the car as agreed upon and had been assured our deposit would be refunded. However, after we left, they attempted to levy additional charges on our credit card with every conceivable excuse. It's been an incredibly frustrating and shady experience dealing with this business.

I rented a car for my week

I rented a car for my week trip to visit friends and family. The company's agents were calling me and texting me on the day of pick-up, providing very specific instructions on how to locate their shuttle van. One suggestion I have is to keep a small stool in the van because the step is quite high for getting inside. It would be difficult for someone like my mom to climb into the van for our return to the airport. Despite some airport traffic, it took about 45 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. However, everything else about the experience was excellent! I didn't mind the virtual agency and check-in process. The young man at the company was very professional and helpful while checking me in. The only downside was that the restrooms in the building didn't have service, which was disappointing.

If ya get an attractve quote from NuCar,

If ya get an attractve quote from NuCar, run as fast as possible the other way. Their advertisin / quotes are decepitve. They say "this is what you will pay - you're getting a great deal - average rates at Denver at this time are 3x more," then at check-out they add on extras that exceed their competitors' honest quotes. They bait and switch with "no cars at that class available - want to upgrade for $40/day more?" They claim you are required to use and pay for a Toll Pass, which is a lie. Their Customer Service's emails were incoherent and rude. The last communication was from their CEO, who mistakenly cc'd us; his instruction was, in essence,"Tell them to go f*** themselves."

We booked our rental car in San Diego

We booked our rental car in San Diego through NU Car Rentals via an online travel company. We weren't sure about NU Car Rentals initially since we hadn't heard of them before. But I was pleasantly surprised. The check-in process went smoothly. The customer service was excellent. The staff member who helped us was very friendly and helpful. He answered all our questions and concerns, and we were done in less than 10 minutes. I opted for their car insurance initially, but later decided against it. When I called them the next day, they removed it without any hassle. Overall, I was happy with NU Car San Diego and would use them again. Thank you, NU Car San Diego!

I'm so upset 'bout my time

I'm so upset 'bout my time with nu car rentals. I said I didn't need insurance 'cause my capital one card covers it. My bill shoulda been 215.00 but it showed 315.00. I kept askin' 'bout it, but he said I'd get 100 back. I argued 'bout it, but he said that's what ya gotta pay. When I gave the car back, they gave me back 300 but not the 100. I called 'em, and they said the 100 was for insurance. I ain't need it, so why'd they charge me? I feel cheated. The guy never told me it was for insurance. I won't go back, and I hope this helps others. VERY MAD CUSTOMER

Despite reading some unfavorable

Despite reading some unfavorable reviews online, my personal experience with this company was excellent! I had to cancel my reservation close to my trip and didn't expect a refund. To my surprise, they refunded the entire amount. I'll definitely choose them again for my rental car needs in the future.

The company put us straight at the right counter. The person in charge gave us the option we wanted, and we drove this car for 2 days (in and around) Phoenix without any problems.
