The Whittier auction site

The Whittier auction site is a monument to incompetence. On one of many occasions when I was returning a grossly misidentified item, I was behind someone returning a shower chair. They bought a dog grooming kit. The $150 adjustable hospital table I bought for a disabled veteran was actually a useless $40 rolling stand for a laptop. The replacement filter that didn't fit the air filter they claimed it was for was just thrown away. The California King mattress pad that they said was for a Queen bed got cut up and thrown out. The cutting board that was "new, open box" that looked like it spent the last 6 months in a commercial kitchen. And then there was the "deluxe yoga mat, extra large, extra thick". It wasn't large. It wasn't thick. It had disturbing stains all over it. And the "new" set of car seat covers? Nope - just one seat cover. The couch that I arranged for a pickup truck to retrieve? Not necessary - it didn't exist. The charge to my credit card did, however. There are more examples, but I suspect you are able to get the gist of how grossly incompetent they are. You'll be happy to know, however, that they always have an excuse about why it isn't their fault. And fortunately for them (not you), every mistake they make is your burden. Your time and gas to pick up the item. Your time and gas to return the item. Your money that is held by them until it gets refunded.

Customer Service is Lacking

Bought two autographed Taylor Swift guitars on July 19th. They emailed me to confirm my address and then promptly sent the guitars to the wrong address. I reached out to find out why the guitars were returned to sender and was met with a very curt “customer service” person who had the audacity to be condescending. This person offered no apology or help. I had to send multiple emails to get to the bottom of the issue. It is now August 7th and they claim the guitars have not returned to them yet. I’m giving them three more days and I’m filing a fraud complaint with my bank.

My first experience with the auction site was a bit slow as I had to figure out how to move around. However, the auction itself went well. I appreciate the pre-bidding system where my max bid stays until someone bids higher. One thing I found inconvenient was that after viewing a lot, I was taken back to lot #1 instead of where I left off. Despite this, I hope to use the site again in the future.

My experience with Taylor auctions was smooth. I bid on 4 auctions and got mixed up with the pick-up dates. However, Chad, the auctioneer, called me before closing to remind me of the missed pick-up and patiently waited for 1.5 hours until I arrived. Chad was really nice and helpful. I'll definitely consider doing business with them again.

Signing up and making an account to bid on stuff was pretty simple. Liked getting a heads-up when someone outbid me. Was a bit confused at first about the timer thing, but then I got it. It gives everyone a shot to bid more. It was kinda irritating, but fair enough, I guess. It's not like a quiet auction, it's online.

I had a grreat exprience as a seller. I had lot of jewelry, mainly cosstume jewelry along with a few gold rings to sell. The jewelry was well-photographed, well-grouped, and well-described by HiBid Virginia. The final bids were better than I expected. The staff was excellnt, I would recommend their services highly.

I like this company because of its platform, compared to other auction sites I use. I like that I can find auctions in my own state. Sometimes it's confusing when auctions are in other states, but I like seeing auctions from Indiana and some from my state auctioneers listing auctions in other states.

The app kept freezing and now I can't log in, so I had to use the website on my phone just before an auction ended. I really wish you could see just your watchlist in real time on the site. I missed some items I was bidding on because they got lost in the mess of many items ending all at once.

I am a big fan! I have bid on so many auctions with them and I have not been disappointed yet. One of the things I love most is that at the end of an auction, if someone places a bid, it resets to two minutes. This gives everyone a fair chance to bid and I really appreciate that.
